August 16 - 20, 4 day workshop

Tapestry: Color Blending

Take a walk along Schoolhouse Beach and explore color blending as you are inspired by the water landscape that surrounds Washington Island. Using traditional tapestry technique we will weave a small landscape on a simple frame loom with hand-dyed yarns in complementary colors.

Our focus will be the study of color blending, looking at the unique relationship complementary colors have to create effects in weaving water. This class is designed for all levels of experience with individual instruction given for both landscape design and tapestry weaving techniques. Finishing and presentation of tapestries will be covered and several examples of completed work will be shown.

The instructor will provide a loom if needed and all yarns necessary for the workshop. Small amounts of fiber from your own collection could be a valuable addition to your palette.

All levels of experience are welcome.
