Ruth Manning Tapestry & Sketches

These artworks are the result of 2 years spent focusing on 3 blocks of the Joseph Avenue Neighborhood in Rochester NY. A few of my sketches became ideas for woven tapestries, others were inspiration for watercolor paintings. I learned that Joseph Avenue is defined by its people and how they go about their day in their neighborhood. Some stopped to look at my work and share their own art stories, many smiled and said hello.
